Interested in making videos, but having trouble finding free stock clips? Check out Public Videos, a project by Fabricio Zuardi. It’s like a clip art directory, but for video! Not only are all of the videos available in open formats—either Ogg Theora, Dirac, or both—but all of the videos are licensed with a CC0 license, meaning they are practically in the public domain and can be used for any purpose.
Public Videos is a repository of open, original, high-quality, and royalty-free video footage that are released or waiting-to-be-released into the commons as public domain with the help of the website users.
The site is still in its alpha phase, but it already has over 2000 clips! Fabricio decided to unveil it early to get as much help and feedback as possible.
EDITS: Thanks to Fabricio’s comments.

Thanks for the post! And yes, all clips currently on the website are released using the CC0 waiver
Other interesting fact regarding Open Video is that all clips are available in Ogg Theora format, and we’ve just started making Ogg Dirac versions available for the most recent ones as well today!
Yikes. That’s the most important part! I can’t believe I forgot that. I’ll add it now.
